Even when the subject of music, isn't about 'togetherness', music in and of itself helps us feel connected to one another. Research has shown time and again that singing together and engaging in music activities with others helps to promote a sense of community, trust, and boosts mood.
In a group music therapy setting, it may be meaningful to explore themes of community when working towards goals including socialization and reducing isolation.
