Jon graduated from Wilfrid Laurier’s Master’s of Music Therapy Program in 2019, and has been working as an Accredited Music Therapist (MTA) and Registered Psychotherapist (RP) since.
Prior to working as a music therapist, Jon received a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology from Missouri State University in 2006 and then worked in mental health and as a musician. While facilitating groups in a psychosocial rehabilitation day program, Jon became aware of the impact music can have in a therapeutic relationship.
As an Accredited Music Therapist (MTA), Jon has worked with diverse ages and populations to address cognitive, communicative, emotional, social, physical and spiritual domains. Jon has experience with Alzheimer’s, traumatic brain injury, mood and personality disorders, PTSD, autism and developmental disabilities.
Jon is passionate about using music as a tool for self-expression and well-being , and is happy to support others in this journey in session.
