About the Role

Miya Creative Care is looking for a part-time music therapist in the Greater Toronto Area to begin in January 2023. This independent contractor will be working in senior care and disability services, with opportunities for grow

Key Resposibilities

  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate music therapy programs in retirement homes, long term care, and/or disability services

  • Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation, and education

  • Maintain professionalism, including abiding by all PPE regulations

  • Attend monthly team meetings


  • Certified Music Therapist (MTA) with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT) in good standing or in progress

  • Experience and passion for working with older adults and in senior care settings

  • Meets the musical and clinical competencies recommended by the Canadian Association of Music Therapists

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Creative and adaptive clinical skills

  • Possess own instruments, including a guitar and a variety of rhythm instruments

  • Be independent, organized, and enthusiastic about working as part of a team

  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine
